Grosjean – On Course for a Conquest

It has come as no surprise when Grosjean said he was shocked of his podium finish. He hasn’t finished in all the races like his more experienced champion team-mate but if he does he makes a statement of his own. He feels so nervy at the start and while the course of action get organised he immediately arrives to his best.

More prominently he is kind to his car emphasising more on tyres. Looking back at all the three races he ended up off track, he made up some fabulous grounding at the early get going. Never afraid to put some move. In the highly exciting last race, it was his tyre management skills convinced the team to put him on an one stop strategy.

Despite qualifying seventh, he jumped up on podium in Bahrain and hoping to rewrite history he started on the same place. I’m damn sure that he wouldn’t have expected to see himself right up in front in the final laps. When Rosberg, Webber and Alonso dived down to the pits to bolt some new rubber it was Grosjean’s turn to take what was left.

And while Alonso puzzling, Grosjean adrift from Hamilton by just two and a half seconds. Bahrain was a scorcher but the most successful race for the Black & Gold team. After a tough Saturday outing, man on our focus Grosjean was rewarded with first career podium it was his easy-on-tyres philosophy did him the best.

The affable Frenchman returned to F1 off the back of being the reigning champion in highly competitive GP2 environment driving for DAMS. After putting on a good show in 2008 GP2 season, he was called to replace suspicious Nelson Piquet Jr. On doing that he drove the last seven races getting no further than 13th place finish.

If you’ve watched GP2 last season, you wouldn’t mind saying he worth a place in the pinnacle of auto sports. Just as high hopes with Lotus playing a driving force, Grosjean’s return was a bit overshadowed by Kimi’s. But those of us having an eagle eyed view, never overlooked Grosjean isn’t it ?

With 13 races remaining and already seven different drivers from five different teams made ingress into the history book Lotus have an awful lot of potential to deliver with two highly committed drivers on the grid. For Romain though his first dance at the top of podium is just few corners away I reckon.
