Kubica update
Robert Kubica has begun his rehabilitation following a rally crash in Italy on February 6th.
The Renault driver was participating in the Ronde di Andora rally in a Skoda Fabia.
The 26-year-old suffered multiple fractures to his leg and arm while also suffered partially severed right hand.
Following multiple operations Kubica is said to be doing well.
'He is doing pretty well and his condition is positive considering what he has been through. The good news is that there have been no complications following all the surgery he has had recently.' Dr. Rossello told Renault's official website.
The doctor also had some great news regarding Kubica's recovery and added: 'He can move his fingers slightly and has a little bit of sensitivity already in his hand. What is very important is that there is no sign of infection, which is the main concern.'
The Pole has moved from intensive care to a rehabilitation centre and has begun gentle hand exercises, Kubica has already been able to slightly flex his fingers which is obviously a terrific sign.
He will remain in the rehab centre for a couple of weeks while medical staff continue to monitor his condition and check that he doesn't pick up any infections or complications following the numerous operations he has undergone.
It is expected Kubica will sit out the majority if not the entire 2011 season.
