'If It's F1, It's Vital'
Sauber remain tight lipped on Perez
The Sauber team remained tight lipped over the future of Sergio Perez after the Italian Grand Prix.
Many people in the paddock believe that Mexican driver has quickly outgrown the Sauber team, with Perez taking his third podium of the season around the historical track of Monza.
Powered by a Ferrari engine and beating both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, it isn't difficult to see why some thought Perez's performance in front of the tifosi was a major help towards his potential move to Ferrari for the 2013 season.
Perez has impressed all season, taking an eighth place finish in Australia, to a second place finish in Malaysia in the second race of the season.
This performance, which many believed should have resulted in his and the teams maiden victory, really sparked the media talk linking him with a move to Ferrari.
His seasons form has continued to impress, with a third place finish in Canada and another second place on the podium in Italy.
Couple his performances with the fact that he is actually part of the Ferrari's development programme and it doesn't take a whole lot of imagination to picture him taking Massa's seat at Ferrari next season.
Sky Sports did their very best to get something out of the main players at Sauber at the weekend, but ultimately they failed.
When broaching the subject with Sauber team owner Peter Sauber, the response was: 'We will see.', when asking Sauber team Team CEO Monisha Kaltenborn the answer was: 'I've always told you we announce for one season and we will in due course announce for the next season,'
When asked about whether beating both Ferrari's and taking crucial world championship points away from Alonso may have actually harmed his chances of a switch, like his Sauber team bosses, he played down the talk: 'I'm fighting for my team and will always fight for the team that I'm in.
'I will always give my maximum I can. And I will fight any driver, no matter if it's Fernando [Alonso] or Lewis [Hamilton], I will fight for my team to get the result - and I think every driver will do the same.'
