'If It's F1, It's Vital'

Unofficial eighth episode of Tooned

In McLaren's very entertaining cartoon animation series 'Tooned', drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton hold a fierce inter-team rivalry.

Well in an impromptu unofficial eighth episode of the series, rivalry spilled over onto Twitter.

Unfortunately unlike the previous seven episodes which were well scripted and funny, this one merely showed the cracks in a relationship which has clearly hit rock bottom since Hamilton declared he would be leaving the team for Mercedes.

On the day of that announcement, which was also the same day Sauber driver Sergio Perez was announced as McLaren's new driver for 2013, Jenson Button started following the young Mexican.

Eager Twitter followers quickly noted that Button was following the Sauber driver, but wasn't following team-mate Lewis Hamilton.

Everyone had assumed that Button had callously 'unfollowed' Hamilton as soon as the news was broken. But the 2009 Formula One World Champion quickly quipped 'I never followed him. and added makes a story though!!'

Well it would seem it didn't make any stories that Lewis Hamilton had been reading during the week, as the McLaren driver was a bit slow to react to the news with hilarious consequences which would have been much more suited to the storylines of Tooned.

'Just noticed @jensonbutton unfollowed, thats a shame. After 3 years as teammates, I thought we respected one another but clearly he doesn't.' Hamilton tweeted.

'Funny thing is, we are STILL teammates! All good tho, I plan on giving this team & fans all I got til I cross the finish line in brazil!!!.'

But in another Twitter blunder for the 2008 champion, Hamilton was forced to quickly apologise once he had learned Button had never been one of his 1million followers.

'My bad, just found out Jenson never followed me. Don't blame him! Need to be on Twitter more,'

We can only hope the real eighth episode of Tooned is better thought out.
