Glock to miss Barcelona following surgery
Timo Glock is expected to miss all four days of winter testing in Barcelona for Virgin Racing following an operation to remove his appendix.
Team mate Jerome d'Ambrosio will step in and complete all four days of testing for the team if Glock, as expected, is not ready to return to the car in time.
'Timo had an operation yesterday to remove his appendix after a sudden case of appendicitis,' Virgin team principal John Booth told Autosport Magazine.
'The procedure was routine and Timo is recovering well in hospital in Switzerland, where he is likely to remain for a further 24 hours.
'To ensure a swift recovery, it is unlikely that he will take part in next week's test in Barcelona and that Jerome will run on all four days instead.
Virgin will return to Catalunya over the period of March 8th to 11th.
The Barcelona test is the final test session ahead of the teams trip to Australia for the opening round of the 2011 Formula One season.
