Perry to lead BBC F1 coverage

With Jake Humphrey leaving the BBC to anchor BT's new Premier League football coverage the BBC have announced his replacement as Suzi Perry.

Now while Jake Humphrey may have been the housewives favourite, Suzi Perry is certainly one for the fella's, but she's not just easy on the eye she knows her stuff too!

The 42-year-old has over a decade's experience of hosting sports programmes, including the BBC's MotoGP coverage, now that's something that neither Jake or Sky Sports Simon Lazenby could ever boast.

'Motorsport is my life and I've really missed being away from the grid, I am so excited to be joining the BBC. Working alongside such an eminent team and the F1 world is a huge honour and I can't wait to get started.' she told the BBC following the announcement.

BBC Head of F1 Ben Gallop added: 'She'll bring real energy and years of experience to one of the biggest jobs in sports broadcasting, Her presenting ability, coupled with her love and knowledge of motorsport, make her an excellent addition.

BBC and Sky Sports will be entering the second year of their shared F1 rights coverage deal which runs until 2018.

All the races will be shown live on Sky Sports once again, whilst currently nine races will also be shown live on the BBC with extended highlights of all the other races.
