'If It's F1, It's Vital'
Jackie Stewart 'fine' after scare
Formula 1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart is thankfully ok after he was rushed to hospital yesterday.
The former three-time F1 World champion was rushed to Hillingdon Hospital yesterday afternoon after the 71-year-old had complained about chest pains during a flight from from Geneva to London.
Last night he was discharged from hospital and he is said to now be recovering well at home.
'He's fine. It was just the chest pains that caused the problem but they're happy it's not a major thing and he's resting,' Sir Jackie's son Paul told the BBC.
'All his vital organs are OK - it wasn't a heart attack or anything like that. He just needs some rest. It's nothing to be overly concerned about.'
Stewart won three World championships in 1969, 1971 and 1973 before retiring as a driver later that year.
He later returned to the sport in 1997 with Stewart Grand Prix and while the team later evolved into Jaguar, Stewart is still a regular on the F1 circuit.
