Massa hits out at race stewards

There certainly was no home bias for Felipe Massa in Brazil.

The Ferrari driver wanted to sign off from his career with Ferrari in style at his home Grand Prix in Interlagos.

The Brazilian driver will leave Ferrari at the end of the calendar year and join Williams ahead of the 2014 FIA Formula One World Championship.

After eight seasons with the team, Felipe Massa was battling for a podium finish to not only sign off in style but give Ferrari a chance of beating Mercedes in the F1 Constructors World Championship.

However whilst in battling Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, Massa was adjudged to have repeatedly crossed the white line on the pit entry.

The Ferrari driver had previously been warned for the offence, but repeated the misdemeanour and was handed a drive through penalty.

'I didn't do anything wrong, Sometimes these guys think they have all the power and they can do what they want so I am more sorry for them than me.' Massa told the BBC after the race.

'I didn't do anything that other cars didn't do but I was the only one punished, I feel very emotional for what I have achieved and what we have achieved together. I have made a lot of friends at Ferrari and I want to thank them all.

'It will be really tough to say goodbye but I am ready to do it and I am ready to celebrate.

Mercedes team principal Ross Brawn later revealed that both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg had commented on the fact that Massa had been crossing the line.

'Our drivers had been reporting that Felipe was consistently crossing the white line at pit entry with all four wheels and when the FIA eventually took action, that obviously helped us. Brawn told Sky Sports.

Ultimately though the penalty had no affect on the Constructors Championship, as Lewis Hamilton's collision with Bottas resulted in damage to the car and also a drive through penalty.
