'If It's F1, It's Vital'
3 Drivers Avoid Grid Penalties
Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, all guilty of impeding cars, avoided a grid penalty following today's qualifying for the Australia Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The FIA stewards, which includes former British driver Johnny Herbert, investigated incidents whereby the three drivers mentioned above impeded other cars during qualifying.
Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg's offences happened in the second qualifying session, while Schumacher's occurred in the first.
Nick Heidfeld blamed traffic for his disappointing 18th place qualifying lap, as he was impeded by Schumacher. Hamilton's incident involved Petrov while Rosberg was thought to have impeded rookie driver Sergio Perez.
Instead of giving the three drivers grid penalties, the FIA decided to just hand out warnings and a statement said:
'the stewards decide to warn the driver as to his future conduct.'
