Who will win in Malaysia?

Formula One is back this weekend as the F1 circus rolls into Malaysia.

After heading into this seasons opening race in Australia on the back foot, McLaren are now trying to curb expectations after a strong showing in Melbourne.

McLaren had a poor winter during the test sessions and looked likely to be well off the pace behind Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes and Sauber, but they took a gamble, went to Melbourne with a revamped car which had a new exhaust system and a new floor and the gamble paid off.

Jenson Button finished sixth, despite suffering a drive thru penalty, while Lewis Hamilton came second behind Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel.

But while the confidence levels around McLaren may have been raised after the race in Australia, the team believe that Red Bull could prove to be even stronger in Malaysia.

'We don't think Melbourne's Albert Park showed us the best of our competitors' pace.

'That makes us more motivated to bring as much to the table as possible.' McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh told the BBC.

'On paper, it looks positive: we were pleased our Melbourne upgrade worked as expected.

'The car's performance around the high-speed elements of Albert Park suggests it will be able to cope around Sepang.

'Despite this, the reality is there was a gap to pole position, and we finished second and not first.

'Our target is to close that gap and get Lewis and Jenson into a position where they can win.'
