Hamilton: One of the Best Races I've Experienced
Chinese Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton shares his reaction on his first win of the season, and says it was one of the best races he's experienced.
The Brit qualified 3rd and admitted before the race that he sacrificed qualifying pace to benefit from an extra new set of tyres for the race - and that proved vital as he showed excellent pace together with superb overtaking ability to pass a number of his Championship rivals to win.
Hamilton also said that his 3-stop strategy helped him win, as Sebastien Vettel made only 2 stops.
'I think today the strategy we came up with definitely helped.
'My new option tyres seemed to last longer. The pit stops were fantastic.
'The car felt great and I was trying to nurse my tyres while picking up pace. It was one of the best races I've experienced.'
It was an impressive performance from the McLaren as there were uncertainties as to whether he would start the race from 3rd or from the pitlane as the engineers had to cope with an fuel leak.
He got onto the grid just in time to start the formation lap and he, along with his team-mate Jenson Button passed Sebastian Vettel on the inside of turn one.
