'If It's F1, It's Vital'
Williams look ahead to Turkey
For a team like Williams, 13th place for Rubens Barrichello and 18th place for Pastor Maldonado isn't a good result.
But in modern day Formula One, Williams have fallen behind the likes of Ferrari and McLaren and into the mid-pack of teams. Add into the equation that in 2011 Williams were without a finish from either driver in Australia or Malaysia, at least both cars finishing could be taken as a positive step for the team.
'Although it was good to see the reliability improvements get both the FW33s to the finish, we don't get any satisfaction out of not scoring any points.' Williams technical director Sam Michael told formula1.com.
'However, the gap between 15th and 10th isn't that big so that is our next target. As well as the technical regrouping that we're currently undertaking, our focus is to get some points on the board.'
'We are introducing a modified floor, new front wing, new rear wing and new brake ducts to both cars for Istanbul. We expect this to give us a few tenths to help our drivers get into the top ten.'
Williams will hope to gain a bit more than a few tenths following upgrades in Turkey, if they can, then they could hope to start pushing to be involved in the top ten shoot-out during future qualifying sessions.
