'If It's F1, It's Vital'
Michael remains philosophical
Williams technical director Sam Michael remains philosophical following his decision to leave the Formula One team.
It was announced this week that both Michael and chief aerodynamicist Jon Tomlinson would leave the Williams Formula One Team at the end of the current season.
Michael actually tendered his resignation after the Malaysian Grand Prix and was offered a new role by the team, but instead Michael has opted for a fresh break and new start.
'I'm quite philosophical about the change now because I'm determined to finish here professionally and with respectable car performance - that is what matters to me right now,' Sam Michael said to Autosport Magazine.
'But I'm also ready for the next challenge now.
'Of course everyone has emotions, but as I resigned three weeks ago I've already done that bit! I love F1 and racing is my life, so I'm looking forward and I'll be here for the long term.'
Michael moves on from Williams after ten years with the team, while Williams have already announced that former McLaren technical chief Mike Coughlan will join the team as chief engineer.
