'If It's F1, It's Vital'
Vettel storms to another victory
He might not have had it his own way in Friday practice, but reigning F1 World champion Sebastian Vettel pulled out the goods when it mattered this weekend.
On Saturday he took pole position ahead of team-mate Mark Webber and on Sunday, he took the win, with Mark Webber taking second to secure a one-two finish for Red Bull Racing.
In what was another entertaining race, Red Bull really dominated. Vettel was never under-threat for the win and while Ferrari's Fernando Alonso somewhat surprisingly threatened to upset Mark Webber, in the end Red Bull took maximum points away from Turkey, not that Alonso and Ferrari will be unduly worried as this indicates a big improvement for the team with their first podium finish of the 2011 season.
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button enjoyed an early battle during the race, Hamilton had been squeezed wide during the opening corners on the first lap and found himself behind his team-mate.
The two Brits battled hard, with Hamilton taking Button, before the 2009 F1 champ regained the place. In the end it was Hamilton who came out on top despite losing a lot of time in the pits with a problem with his front right tyre change. Hamilton took fourth (40 seconds behind Vettel), while Button had to settled for sixth (59 seconds behind the winner).
In the middle of the McLaren sandwich was Mercedes Nico Rosberg. The German had qualified third and took second from Mark Webber on the start, but Mercedes couldn't convert their qualifying pace into race pace and was left a sitting duck on numerous occasions, with drivers taking advantage of KERS and DRS to get past.
One of the main talking points as the F1 circus prepares to leave Turkey will be the impact that DRS had on the racing. It certainly led for some entertaining racing, but was it too much? On quite a few occasions cars were getting past before they even reached the breaking zone, not quite the overtaking 'aid' it had been designed for.
