'If It's F1, It's Vital'

A day at the (Monaco) races - Part 1

On the train yet again but this time with three great people.

Mary, my pal, she's a racehorse owner from the Netherlands, watch out for her horse Tomoko, probably the best four-year-old on the trotting circuit here in France.

Her son Steven and his girlfriend Jamie, both crazy Ajax supporters and F1 fans, go all over Europe to watch.

All sports people so a pleasure to be with.

We got there around 11am and walked down to the Paddock buying ear defenders on the way. Always difficult getting to where you want on race Day, even for locals as they close so many roads.

Got there and I took them around the area so they could get to know where they were. They were like kids with new toys! Snapping pics wherever we went.

Steven was the first to spot a celebrity, Flavio Briatore.

Stopped on the Quay by the Red Bull barge (from now on the RBB) to start drinking in the atmosphere.

Around 1.00 our time we went round to Stars'n'Bars (SnB) to eat. Our table had three screens around it so it was easy to watch the build-up.

The food is very American, burgers, chilli, onion rings and massive portions of course.

With about twenty minutes to the start we went to the paddock and started snapping again.

I’ve had the pics arranged not in any particular order, just random of the crowds celebrities and general scenes.

About 5 mins to go and Richard Branson walked by to get his tender to take him to his yacht to watch the race, I did not get an invite!!!! I remember thinking 'why does a bloke with lovely blond hair dye his roots grey?' bit bitchy I know!

Next part the race and after party!
