'If It's F1, It's Vital'

Future is safe at Renault

Speculation in the press had questioned whether the Renault Formula One team had any future, with questions being asked about the teams financial situation.

That speculation was put to bed on Wednesday when Renault team principal Eric Boullier told the BBC: 'The future is very clear and bright. We have solid sponsors, we have solid owners with a good financial background, we have some good plans.'

The Renault team are never far from the headlines in recent years. There was the race-fixing scandal which saw Boullier replace Flavio Briatore following his ban from the sport, then there was their takeover by Genii Capital in 2009 and of course this season they have had to content with Robert Kubica's rally incident and a legal dispute with Team Lotus.

But despite the lows, Boullier has enjoyed the season which current has Renault ahead of Mercedes in the Constructors World championship.

'I have enjoyed a great start with two podiums in a row. It is obviously very challenging but it is good to see our boys here deliver a good car and a competitive car, The racing is also very good this year. The spectacle is good, the show is good for the fans and I think Formula 1 has a perfect cocktail.' he said.
