'If It's F1, It's Vital'
Button enjoying mini championship battle
With the Formula One world championship wrapped up pretty early, many drivers have had to settle for enjoying each race as it comes.
The battle for second place in the Formula One World championship isn't usually that prestigious, but in a season where one man has dominated, it's pretty much the only thing to play for.
Currently with his second place finish in Singapore, McLaren's Jenson Button is leading the 'best of the rest' championship, one-point clear of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and three-points clear of Red Bull's Mark Webber. Team-mate Lewis Hamilton is seventeen-points behind while Ferrari's Felipe Massa is a hundred-points behind the 2009 F1 champion.
Button also hopes to beat Sebastian Vettel over the final nine races of the season. So far Jenson Button has won once, while Vettel has taken three victories in succession over the past month.
'I had a goal to beat Seb in the points from Hungary onward. It's going to be tricky. But I'm the second highest points scorer so far and that's got to be the aim for the rest of the season. Button told the BBC.
'My main aim is to win races. It didn't quite work here but I was the closest person to do that.'
