'If It's F1, It's Vital'

Vettel overwhelmed

Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel doesn't have many days to get used to the fact that he is now a double World Champion.

Formula One doesn't stop at this stage of the season and this weekend the drivers go at it all again, this time in Korea.

But for Vettel who is now officially the F1 champion in 2011, this weekend he is likely to be a lot more relaxed as the pressure is off in terms of winning the title.

'A lot of people have been quite confident about the title, but one of the important things was that we didn't allow ourselves to drift away with the thought too much. Instead we concentrated on every single step and everything we have done this year and everything we have achieved - then wow. the 2010 and 2011 Formula One World Champion told the media on Sunday.

The title may have now been mathematically sealed, but realistically Vettel has had the championship won for many months.

Vettel has won 9 of the 15 races so far this season and has been on pole 12 times in 2011. A truly dominating season for Vettel who becomes the sports youngest ever double world champion, taking that record from Fernando Alonso.

'it's phenomenal what's happened – we set ourselves the target to win the Championship this year and so, to win it by Japan with four more races to go, is difficult to put into words.'

'I feel fortunate and blessed to experience today. There were so many excited people when we did the drivers' parade today and that was my last thought when I put my helmet on. For drivers, it doesn't get much better than this, a sunny day and all the fans excited to see what you do – I think that's what life is about. And so, to wrap up the Championship here is difficult to put into words – it's more than fantastic.'

With Vettel still only 24-years-old, many will begin to wonder if the German driver can beat Michael Schumacher's record of seven F1 titles?
