Vettel wins in Korea

He might not have put his car on pole for the Korean Grand Prix, but the new double world champion didn't take long to take the lead and impose his dominance on the rest of the grid in the early hours of this morning.

Sebastian Vettel overtook McLaren's Lewis Hamilton who had previously ended Red Bull's dominance on a Saturday to claim pole position, on the first lap and never really looked back.

Instead it was left to Hamilton and Vettel's Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber to tussled for second place, but despite the Red Bull being clearly quicker than the McLaren on both the super-soft and soft tyres, the Australian just couldn't make a move on Hamilton stick, to make it a one-two finish for Red Bull Racing.

But despite not being able to take a one-two finish, it didn't prevent them from wrapping up their second consecutive constructors' world championship.

Webber did get past Hamilton going into the first corner on one occasion, but Hamilton took advantage of the DRS and KERS to re-take the place.

Hamilton's team-mate Jenson Button could only watch on as he couldn't get the gap down to below a second on a consistent basis to make a move on Webber and he eventually went on to settle for fourth spot.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was also quick in clean air and having got past Felipe Massa, who put up a good challenge to the former two time champion earlier in the race, he couldn't trouble Jenson Button.

Alonso could get within a few seconds of Button, but he, like Button behind Webber, was unable to stay close enough to challenge for the position.

The Spaniard eventually conceded defeat and accepted fifth position with a radio message declaring to the Ferrari team 'I give up'.

Alonso finished fifth and Massa sixth.

Jaime Alguersuari had an impressive run for Toro Rosso to finish in a very respectable seventh place to take six points, with Nico Rosberg eighth, Sebastien Buemi picking up another two points for Toro Rosso in ninth and Force India's Paul di Resta rounding off the points positions.

Toro Rosso's eight points brings them to just three points behind Sauber in the battle for seventh place in the constructors' world championship.
