Hamilton in search of 'happy bubble'
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton has denied reports that he feels under pressure by the performances of team-mate Jenson Button.
Hamilton trails Button in this seasons championship by 38 points and has watched his team-mate take the top step of the podium on three occasions compared to Hamilton's two victories.
McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh suggested that it could be playing on the mind of the 2008 Formula One World Champion, but Hamilton was quick to dismiss the suggestion.
'My issues have been much, much bigger than that - more personal. Jenson doing great is great for the team.' Hamilton told the BBC.
Hamilton has suffered his worst season in Formula One since he entered the sport in 2007. He has been penalised by the stewards on multiple occasions for aggressive driving and has had a season-long feud with Ferrari driver Felipe Massa.
Some have questioned whether Hamilton's off the track issues have been the cause of his poor season.
Hamilton's off the track problems have been well documented.
He is no longer managed by his father Anthony Hamilton who he shared a close relationship with during his championship winning season and has more recently split up with long-term girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.
Hamilton stopped short of blaming those problems entirely, but did admit that his team-mate will have benefited from the stability a strong support network brings.
'Jenson has done a great job to get things in the right place, He's got his Dad, who's there at every single race, he's got his manager, he's got his friends and his girlfriend there all the time.
'He's got a great bubble around him and with that he's able to go out there and perform without any worries on his mind.'
'He's in a much stronger position than me so I wouldn't expect anything less than the results he's been getting. But that's not affecting the way I'm performing. I've just been a bit unfortunate and I've got my own problems.
'I lost that bubble. It is a priority for me to create that atmosphere around myself because it's a happy bubble.'
