War of words over Kubica future

Robert Kubica's manager Daniele Morelli has accused the Renault team of changing Robert Kubica's comments in their recently released statement.

On Wednesday, Renault released a statement via their official website, which included quotes from Robert Kubica and Renault team boss Eric Boullier.

We at VitalF1.com published some of these quotes as part of our own article, which stated quite clearly that Kubica was not in a position to commit himself to the 2012 Formula One season.

'I just need more time, as I want to be 100% ready before I commit to anything driving related.' Kubica said.

However it would seem that the Polish drivers manager was not happy with the announcement and he denies that Kubica will not be ready in time for the new 2012 season.

'I don't understand why Renault has changed Robert's words. It's not true he won't be ready for 2012: he stated he doesn't have certainty that he will be in shape for the first tests in February' Morelli told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Renault boss Eric Boullier was bemused by the comments and he told Autosport Magazine: 'He approved the communication so everything was fine. He approved it, and now he is upset with I don't know what to be honest. I don't want to comment more because it's a waste of time.'

The Polish driver has been in recovery since he crashed a Skoda Fabia during the opening stage of the Ronde di Andora rally in Italy back in February.
