'If It's F1, It's Vital'

Brundle makes switch to Sky

Martin Brundle has confirmed that he will leave the BBC Formula One team and move over to Sky Sports for the 2012 season.

From next season Sky Sports will be the only channel in the United Kingdom which will show every single practice session, qualifying and race live.

Sky Sports have announced that they will be launching a brand new dedicated Formula One channel and have also confirmed that their lead commentator will be Martin Brundle, who has worked previously with ITV and the BBC.

'I'm very much looking forward to joining Sky's Formula 1 team, It was exciting to hear that they will have a dedicated channel for Formula 1 - with live races, in-depth features and key interviews.' Brundle told Sky Sports.

'It's very important for me to be covering every Formula 1 weekend with the intense energy of live television. There will be also be plenty of time and scope at Sky to create the features I really enjoy making which highlight the skills and fascinating technology of F1. It's been a privilege working with BBCF1, and now I am very motivated with new opportunities at Sky Sports F1 HD.'

Sky Sports have confirmed that the qualifying and the races will be advert free and the channel will be available to their Sky Sports 1 and 2 customers as well as their Sky HD subscribers.

As yet there is no news regarding coverage on BT Vision or Virgin Media.
