Poll Result - Should Barrichello retire?
Over the past week the users of Vital F1 have been giving their views on whether or not Rubens Barrichello should retire from Formula One.
The poll was prompted by comments from Ferrari driver Felipe Massa, which kind of intimated that Rubens should have announced his retirement ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, so that he could receive a fitting tribute in front of his home fans.
However Barrichello has been clear with his comments to the worlds media that he isn't looking to retire just yet and wants to secure a drive in the 2012 Formula One World Championship, so that he can celebrate 20 years in F1.
39-year-old Barrichello has started 322 Grand Prix's, has won 11 races, has finished on the podium 68 times and has started from pole position 14 times since making his debut for Jordan in March 1993 at the South African Grand Prix.
But with Williams confirming that Pastor Maldonado will be staying with the team it now looks unlikely that Barrichello will stay at Williams.
That leaves him with fairly limited options and the decision of course could be taken out of his hands.
But if the VF1 users are a good indication it would seem that most would like to see the Brazilian continue racing next season.
