Kubica leaves hospital
Robert Kubica has left the Italian hospital where he has been recovering from his broken leg.
27-year-old Kubica reopened a fracture in his right leg [tibia] after falling in the garden in an accident at his house in Italy.
The Polish driver underwent an operation last week to have a metal screw inserted to pin the bone and to reduce the fracture, it is likely that he faces a month in plaster.
Autosport Magazine have reported that 'medical tests on the leg at Mantova Hospital showed that the calcification of the bone had not happened properly last year - as a result of the Polish driver being forced to remain in bed for a long period after his crash.'
But doctors have allowed him to return to Monaco to continue his rehabilitation.
The injury setback is unlikely to have an impact on Kubica's recovery time as the main area of concern is still his right arm and hand which still requires several months for the nerve regrowth to continue.
When Kubica crashed his Skoda Fabia during the opening stage of the Ronde di Andora rally in Italy back in February 2011. His car crashed into a barrier which penetrated his car leaving him with a partially severed right hand and fractures to his right leg and arm.
