'If It's F1, It's Vital'

Day 3 results from Mugello

Day three of in-season testing completes in Mugello.

Testing came to an end at Ferrari's Mugello circuit on Thursday with Romain Grosjean on top of the timing sheets for a second day running.

Observations:

MOST LAPS: 6 drivers cracked the century mark, Heikki Kovalainen for Caterham was the busiest, completing 139 laps. Nico Rosberg (129), Sergio Perez (118), Daniel Ricciardo (117), Timo Glock (110) and Sebastian Vettel (106).

LEAST LAPS: Paul Di Resta completed only 14 laps on Wednesday for Force India and on Thursday he again completed the least laps out of the 12 drivers on track, completing just 34 laps.

POWERED BY: Cars powered by either Renault or Ferrari once again looked strong.

COMPETITIVE FIELD: 1.3 seconds separated nine different teams on Thursday, just imagine that over the course of a whole race weekend in Barcelona......

11. Heikki Kovalainen Caterham + 1.819s 139 Laps

12. Timo Glock Marussia + 2.116s 110 Laps

"It was another nice day today so I have been lucky with the weather here. We continued to work on the car and have gained more valuable data. We made a big change to the car at lunchtime and everything went according to plan. Mugello puts high demands on the driver so it's been a very good experience for me - and quite a workout! Romain Grosjean told Sky Sports after the final day of testing.

"We were conducting a specific programme of evaluating components, so to be quick relative to our opposition even when we were not looking specifically to try to top the times is satisfying. I'm happy at the progress we've made here in Italy and looking forward to seeing how well this translates into lap time when we get to Barcelona."
