Hamilton stripped of pole position
Lewis Hamilton has been stripped of his pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix and will start at the back of the grid on Sunday.
The 2008 Formula One World champion failed to bring his car back to the pits following setting the fastest time in Q3, stopping his McLaren on his in-lap.
Hamilton's McLaren was found to not have had enough fuel on board to comply with FIA regulations.
After any session a car must have enough fuel on-board to complete an in-lap and supply a one-litre sample.
Hamilton's car was stopped due to a technical problem according to team principal Martin Whitmarsh who told the press after qualifying: "There was a technical problem that led to that situation."
He also insisted that Hamilton would have had enough fuel in the car to be able to complete his in-lap and stated that McLaren supplied 1.3-litres of fuel to the stewards, however it was deemed that this wasn't sufficient and he was penalised.
A statement from the race stewards said:
"The Stewards determine that this is a breach of Article 6.6.2 of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations and the Competitor is accordingly excluded from the results of the Qualifying Session. The Competitor is however allowed to start the race from the back of the grid."
The news means that Williams driver Pastor Maldonado will start from pole position.

Yeah they do have something against McClaren, he did it before in Canada 2 years ago, so a new rule was brought in, and he was "done" this time. Forza Williams.
