Vettel Fastest On Barcelona Testing Day 1

2010 Formula 1 World Champion Sebastien Vettel topped the timesheets after day one of testing in Barcelona, beating second fastest Fernando Alonso by 1.11 seconds - with a laptime of 1 minute 24.374 seconds.

Alonso looked like clocking the fastest time in his home country but the German delivered a quick lap late on as the track dried up after a damp start to the session.

Toro Rosso's Jaime Alguersuari was third quickest ahead of Kamui Kobayashi, while McLaren's Jenson Button was 5th, 2 seconds behind Vettel.

Vettel told formula1.com:

“Unfortunately, we didn’t complete many laps today, as we had a long break - longer than expected,”

“It wasn’t anything big, nothing broke, but at the test if you think there might be a problem then you’d rather take the car apart and check. The boys did their best and we still got some runs towards the end of the day - not as much as we’d like, but the car feels good and hopefully we’ll do more tomorrow.”

There will be further testing in Barcelona tomorrow (Saturday).

Go Vettel!!!!
kates dirty sister
I'm liking this build up, going to be great to have a site to be all over during the season as opposed to just a thread on some of the footie sites.
The Fear
Can't wait for the season to start now, Sunday's aren't the same without a F1 race to watch!
