Monaco Grand Prix Historique - Lotus Interview

VitalF1.com's very own Villaininthemerde is the man we turn to for all the gossip when it comes to the Monaco Grand Prix every year.

A couple of weeks back he was in the principality to pick up his tickets for this years Monaco Grand Prix and the Historique Monaco which was held last weekend.

While he was in town, he also took the time to have a look around the Musée de l'Automobile Monaco, which is Prince Raniers automobile museum.

If you missed this article check it out here.

Over the next few days we will be bringing some exclusive video's of Villaininthemerde's trip to the Historique Monaco and as ever be sure to keep up with all the gossip from Monaco over on the forum!

So over to Villaininthemerde...

John Chisolm, the owner and driver of this Lotus 18 1960, gave me this interview.

Just a lovely man who, with his wife and mechanic go all over the world to race the car.

Colin Chapman was a genius and one of the great inervaters of all time, the rear engine for instance, but this time he got the stair gearbox wrong.

John told me that you have to check the position of the stick every time you change or it can easily brake. Notice the skilful way he turns me away from my tunnel obsession. :)) He also told me that he's a bit disappointed with the resurfacing the because a water cover has disappeared on the corner in there and now finds it difficult to find the line for the exit!

Wonder if Lewis will have same problem!!!!
